Congratulations on the first step of buying a home! Using my years of experience in real estate, I will guide you through the entire process of buying a home, starting with finding the right home for you and continuing through the escrow process until you receive the keys! I can also help you find the right lender and loan for you.

Loan Pre-Approval process

I have worked with many local lenders, and can assist you in finding the right one for your needs. The lender will provide you with a copy of your credit report and your FICO score, and if necessary, what needs to be done to better improve your FICO. The higher your score, the better your interest rate.

Set your specifications and desires

The lender will also be able to tell you how much home you can comfortably afford, using your debt-to-income ratio. This can vary depending on the loans available to you, and I also look at what you are comfortable paying monthly when finding a home for you. We will also determine what city in the Morongo Basin you would like to live in: Yucca Valley, Morongo Valley, Joshua Tree, 29 Palms, Landers, Wonder Valley, etc. I can also include the lower desert and Banning/Beaumont in searches if desired.

Set your must-haves and your wants

How many bedrooms/bathrooms are you comfortable with? Do you require a garage? Are there other features you can’t live without? Are there any areas you are willing to compromise on in finding the perfect home for you?

This website features a search that allows you to look for homes in the Morongo Basin and surrounding areas. I would be happy, however, to help you with your search! Simply contact me, and I’ll place you on an update that can send you emails daily, bi-weekly, or weekly, depending on a schedule you want, containing listings set to your specifications and needs.

Keeping you up to date

I’ll keep you up to date in your search with auto-emails containing all of the homes matching your needs in the areas of the Morongo Basin you want to be. If you ever would like to see something, or to know something more about a home, simply give me a call and I’ll arrange to show you the property as soon as possible. Real estate is fast moving, and my goal is to make sure you don’t miss out on a great deal!

Let’s make a deal!

Once you’ve found the home you would like to make an offer on, I’ll be able to submit an offer for you. I’ll give you my opinion on what you should offer based on fair market value, let you know if I see any problems with the home, give my opinions on what you need to do to make sure your offer is accepted, and go over paperwork and terms of the offer with you.

Once Your Offer Is Accepted

Once you have an accepted offer, we will begin the escrow process. You will be asked for an earnest money deposit, typically $500 here in the Morongo Basin. Your earnest money deposit, depending on the financing used to purchase the home, is usually returned at the close of escrow, however it is not always returned. Sometimes, the earnest money deposit is used to pay for any costs associated with issuing the loan, or you may use the earnest money deposit to pay for expenses such as purchasing a home inspection.

A home purchase is a big investment, which is why I always advise that clients purchase a home inspection. I can refer you to several different local inspectors, and you can choose the best one for you. A home inspector will inspect the home and let you know if there are any problems that may cause concern. We are also able to use the inspection report to request any repairs that may be of concern to yourself and/or the inspector.

I will let you know when you should begin making moving arrangements, and keep you up to date on the progression of escrow, as well as providing contact information for local utilities if needed.
Before closing, I’ll go through the property one final time with you to make sure everything is in correct order before the close of escrow.

-We will review the terms and conditions of your loan, to make sure everything is correct
-Please carefully read everything before you sign
-If buying in Yucca Valley, please note that the wastewater treatment facility may impact your tax bill.
